Ruth's Garden

Ruth planted rows and rows of common garden vegetables including
tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, carrots, and more. She loved her garden and
took pride in keeping it weed-free. However, her work
had only begun as the vegetables were harvested,
processed, and stored in a root cellar in the basement
of the house for future use. Ruth once shared with
me that Greg always volunteered to help her in
the garden and never complained about it. Greg's
favorite things made from the garden were dill pickles
and rhubarb pie, but not at the same time! Ruth
definitely passed the love of gardening on to Greg.
