Dad loved the farm and didn't care to travel or go anywhere; he
just preferred to be home on the farm. Each time Dad would call
me, he always started by saying, "What do you know?", followed
by "It's a beautiful day!". It didn't matter to him if it was raining
(because the crops need rain), or if it was sweltering (the crops
need that heat), it was always a beautiful day. This quilt block
always reminds me of sunshine and a beautiful day.
